FRIDAY: After work head over to the MOMA for their German Expressionism exhibit. It’s free to get in after 4pm and there is also a really cool exhibit of Picasso’s Guitars. For a list of current exhibits go HERE.
SATURDAY: Don’t miss the Bust Magazine Craftacular and Food Fair in Soho on Saturday from 11am-8pm. Over 100 unique vendors will be lined up at 82 Mercer St. btw Broome and Spring St. Lots of cool stuff from local artists, designers, craftsmen, and culinary treats to be had!
The Robicelli’s and their infamous cupcakes will be there…that’s why I will be there…to indulge on an Iona! The Iona cupcake is a pear olive oil cake, with blue cheese French buttercream, port wine and candied walnuts. Seriously YUMMY.
Shop the Archway Spring Market is also happening on Saturday from 11am-6pm in DUMBO at the Archway under the Manhattan Bridge - Water St. at Adams St. I LOVE the POSTCARD they made for this event! And I love DUMBO! There are so many great restaurants around that area that I am going to both of these craft fairs to shop and eat!
Brooklyn Flea Food Market opens this Saturday as well! Smorgasburg joins NY State Greenmarket Farmers and top NYC purveyors and chefs at the Williamsburg waterfront every Saturday thereafter. For a complete list of food vendors, click HERE.
SUNDAY: If craft and food fairs aren’t your thing then consider going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the new Alexander McQueen exhibit of his iconic fashions called Savage Beauty. He is my favorite designer and it’s so very unfortunate that we will no longer have the privilege to see what unique and incredible beauty that he could conjure up.
If you can’t make it this weekend, be sure to go soon because this rare exhibit will end on July 31. Another cool exhibit ending in July at the MET is Guitar Heroes. What an amazing collection of guitars! I need to make it to both of these next weekend!
